Social Media Across Technologies and Timelines
della_smithruth_atherleyPresenters: Della Smith, principal, QUAY Strategies Inc. and Ruth Atherley, AHA Creative Strategies

Bridging Two Worlds is an interactive, engaging presentation that focuses on social media and the challenges of working successfully across technologies, territories and timelines. Co-presented by Della Smith of QUAY Strategies Inc. and Ruth Atherley of AHA Creative Strategies Inc., Bridging Two Worlds provides participants with a better understanding of the online world and helps them strategically establish a respected, relevant and current traditional and online voice for their stakeholders.

*For the CPRS National Conference in Vancouver, Ruth Atherley will be on assignment in New Zealand implementing an international (Canada, U.S., Australia) social media campaign for Tourism New Zealand. Ruth and Della will co-present - bringing a live, interactive, and online component to their presentation. Ruth will "beam" into the presentation via webcam, Twitter and potentially other social media tools.

This 1.5 hour interactive workshop will:

* Demystify social media in a fun, lively, and non-judgmental environment.

* Create an understanding of social media and how it can become a valuable tool in the communicator's overall toolkit (bridging traditional and social media tools).

* Showcase the challenges of working successfully across technologies, territories and timelines.

* Inspire, engage and educate participants regarding the opportunities and threats when using social media.
